ATHLETIC TRAINING is practiced by athletic trainers, health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients.  Athletic training encompasses the prevention, assessment, and intervention with exercise and treatment of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.

On April 6, 2023 at the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Spring Conference Luncheon, 8 athletic trainers were recognized as Maine Legends of Athletic Trainers.
